Sterling Clothing – Returns & Refunds Policy

At Sterling Clothing (Pty) Ltd, your satisfaction is important to us. We stand by the quality of our products and are committed to ensuring you receive goods that are in perfect condition. This policy outlines our procedure for returns and refunds, in compliance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA) of South Africa.

1. General Returns for Defective or Faulty Products

In accordance with the CPA, all our products come with a six-month implied warranty of quality. This means that if any product you purchase is found to be defective, unsafe, or not of good quality, you have the right to return it to us within six months of delivery.

We will gladly accept returns for products that have a manufacturing defect or are otherwise faulty. A product is considered defective if it is not reasonably suitable for its intended purpose, is of poor quality, or is not in good working order.

Upon receipt of a defective or faulty item, you have the right to choose to have the item:

  • Repaired
  • Replaced
  • Refunded

We are legally obligated to honour your choice.

2. Our 7-Day Return Policy

While the CPA provides a six-month warranty, our own policy allows you a 7-day return window for defective or faulty products. We encourage you to inspect your items as soon as they are delivered and report any defects to us within this period to ensure a swift resolution.

3. Returns for “Change of Mind”

Please choose your products carefully. We do not accept returns or offer refunds for a “change of mind.” Our policy is limited to returns for defective or faulty products. This is in line with South African law, which does not provide a general right of return for a change of mind for most purchases.

4. How to Initiate a Return

To initiate a return for a defective or faulty product, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact Us: Send an email to esther@kingsgate.co.za within 7 days of receiving your order.
  2. Provide Details: In your email, include:
    • Your full name
    • Order number
    • A clear description of the defect or fault
    • Clear photographs or a video demonstrating the issue
  3. Approval: Our team will review your request. If the return is approved, we will provide you with a return shipping label and instructions on how to send the product back to us.

5. Condition of Returned Items

To be eligible for a refund or replacement, the returned item must be in its original packaging with all tags attached, and in the same condition as when you received it, with the exception of the defect reported. We reserve the right to inspect the item to verify the reported defect.

6. Refunds and Processing

Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the status of your refund or exchange.

If your request is approved, your refund will be processed promptly. A credit will be automatically applied to your original method of payment. Please allow up to 14 working days for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your bank’s processing times.

Sterling Clothing (Pty) Ltd will cover all costs associated with returning a defective or faulty item.

7. Non-Returnable Items

For hygiene and health reasons, certain items are non-returnable unless they are defective or faulty. Please check the product description for any specific return restrictions before making a purchase.

8. Important Considerations

  • Shipping Costs: The cost of return shipping for defective items is our responsibility.
  • Consumer’s Right to Choose: As stated above, you have the right to choose between a refund, replacement, or repair for defective goods. We will not force you to accept a repair if you prefer a refund or replacement.
